Pearson Engineering supports IED survivor in mission to climb Everest
Following a previous fund raising event in support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Pearson Engineering has extended its backing to provide sponsorship to a former soldier and survivor of an IED attack, who is attempting to climb Everest on behalf of the charity.
Les Binns sustained life changing injuries following an explosion in Afghanistan during operations with the Light Dragoons. He is currently climbing Everest for a second time following an aborted first attempt to save the life of another climber just a short way from the summit.
As proud suppliers of equipment to protect soldiers from IEDs, Pearson Engineering understands the challenges faced by those operating in high threat environments. As a result, the company is committed to activities to help organisations such as ABF The Soldiers’ Charity to provide facilities for injured servicemen and women.
Inspired by Les’ drive and dedication to undertake the challenge again after valiantly aborting his previous climb, Pearson Engineering were keen to help him to succeed where possible in his fundraising activity.
Les reached Everest Base Camp a couple of weeks ago and commenced his climb up the harsh Tibetan face of Everest. We look forward to seeing an update from him soon.
