Pearson Engineering launch the next generation of mine clearance
Leading UK defence manufacturer Pearson Engineering announces £1.5 million investment into the next generation of the world-leading MineWolf 370, with orders being opened on the latest version.
Pearson Engineering is set to build on a £1.5 million investment to develop the MineWolf 370 Next Generation (MW370 Next Generation), a new uncrewed mine and route clearance platform. Bringing together Pearson Engineering’s unmatched engineering capabilities and pioneering remote-control technology, the MW370 Next Generation is announced today.
For over two decades, MineWolf platforms have supported mine clearance operations worldwide, with a proven operational track record having been deployed by a number of International mine action authorities and the United Nations. More recently, the accredited MW370 was dispatched by the UK Ministry of Defence to defeat explosives in Ukraine, the most mined country in the world, creating safe passages across civilian land and protecting lives.
The MW370 Next Generation incorporates advanced integrated automation that delivers thousands of operational hours while eliminating obsolescence and reducing risk to operators. The upgraded platform introduces enhanced maintainability, reinforced ballistic protection, and significantly improved situational awareness. This new evolution of the system is supported by comprehensive, end‑to‑end engagement from Pearson Engineering, ensuring full lifecycle support and sustained operational effectiveness. The upgraded product offers significantly enhanced capabilities for the effective removal of anti-personnel (AP) and anti-tank (AT) landmines, up to 15kg. Fully uncrewed, the model includes a cutting-edge Camera Video System with real-time video streaming on a single screen and offers mine-clearing performance of up to 4,500 m2 per hour. The mine clearance platform is operated via a mesh-capable remote-control system, capable of an operational range of up to 1,000m line of sight, extendable to 3,000m.
Pearson Engineering Chief Executive Ian Bell said:
“The MineWolf 370 has a proven track record of life-saving capacity around the world. Uncrewed solutions like the MW370 Next Generation offer groundbreaking opportunities to preserve and protect the lives of our allies like never before.”
Jason Riby, Director of Engineering said:
“Backed by extensive upgrades and innovative research and development, Pearson Engineering’s MineWolf 370 Next Generation reflects our commitment to protecting humanitarian and allied military forces with the safest technology.”
