Building on the success of the 2024 Tour De Tyne cycle, our team once again got back on the saddle, this time exploring the scenic trails of Kielder Forest in Northumberland.
At Pearson Engineering, supporting employee wellbeing and promoting a culture of physical health are central to who we are. As proud participants in the Better Health at Work Award, now in our fourth year and striving toward the Continuing Excellence accreditation, we run regular health and wellbeing campaigns shaped by employee feedback. One of our five key wellbeing pillars is physical activity, and cycling events are a fantastic way to bring this to life.
This year’s ride at Kielder Forest was a true team effort, organised by colleagues across our Armstrong Works site. With two route options (13 miles or 30 miles) there was something for every ability. Riders enjoyed breathtaking forest views, tackled some challenging climbs and were rewarded with thrilling descents back to the meeting point near Team Cycles, who kindly supplied some of our hire bikes.
After completing their routes, the group celebrated together at The Kielder Tavern before heading home.
A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the Tour De Tyne ‘Reservoir Edition’. A brilliant example of teamwork, resilience and fun on two wheels!
