Pearson Engineering partners with Ukrainian system integration company to develop maintenance, training and equipment in-country
Pearson Engineering has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ukrainian defence company Ukrainska Bavovna.
The agreement will develop the provision of high-quality repair and maintenance service for systems already delivered to Ukraine, training users of engineering equipment, and will explore production of Pearson Engineering’s life-saving equipment in Ukraine as part of the significant efforts in both the current military campaign and also to restore land for domestic and agricultural purposes.
Pearson Engineering has a proud history of delivering systems that protect lives and mobility on the battlefield. Its equipment has played an important role in post-conflict recovery. In 2024, the company exported nearly £60m worth of equipment globally, including supplying specialist mine clearance equipment to Ukraine to support humanitarian demining, making civilian areas safer and enabling reconstruction. Ukrainska Bavovna is a Ukrainian defence system integration company providing support and organisational services to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Speaking following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Pearson Engineering Group Chief Executive Officer Ian Bell commented:
“Pearson Engineering technology delivers groundbreaking opportunities – on the battlefield and in restoring post-conflict terrain to safety. This agreement works in the interests of a safer and more secure environment for the people of Ukraine in future”.
A UB Spokesperson added:
“This collaboration with Pearson Engineering on testing, research and development of minefield clearance equipment will bolster both our Armed Forces’ capability to manoeuvre and our civilian emergency services’ demining capabilities. Ukraine is now the most heavily mined country in the world and we need the mobility support that Pearson Engineering’s equipment provides. As this equipment is so important we want to build the capacity in-country for future manufacturing, maintenance and training.”
