Dismounted Soldier Protection Roller
The Dismounted Soldier Protection Roller (DSPR) clears a path for dismounted soldiers by detonating, exposing or deactivating anti-personnel explosive devices which otherwise may be detonated by human footfall or by command wire.
The system is generally used where there is a possibility, rather than the probability of the presence of threats on an intended route.
The DSPR is intended for use on remotely operated light weight vehicles with limited towing, pushing or axle load capacity. The DSPR is towed behind the host vehicle exactly as any other trailer. Towing the system leads to significantly increased mobility than a pushed system.
The DSPR can be fitted using a Pearson Engineering interface kit which allows the task equipment to be quickly and easily interchanged and jettisoned increasing the operational capability of the host vehicle.
