Pearson Engineering is proud to announce that following an external audit, the company has achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification. The government backed scheme aims to improve the standard of cyber security throughout industry to prevent attacks wherever possible.
The scheme ensures that levels of protection are in place to safeguard a company’s information. To achieve Cyber Essentials Plus status, a company must pass five key elements when independently assessed:
- Secure configuration
- Boundary firewalls and internet gateways
- Access control and administrative privilege management
- Patch management
- Malware protection
According to independent auditors ‘mass’, “90% of major UK businesses and 74% of small companies suffered a cyber-security breach in the last year”
This certification allows Pearson Engineering to demonstrate to its customers, suppliers and partners that the company appropriately safeguards all information. As a defence contractor, Pearson Engineering is used to handling sensitive information and the company is proud to implement this additional control. The Cyber Essentials Plus certification enhances Pearson Engineering’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards in security.
