ICT Technician – Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our ICT team.  For this newly created role, we are looking for an ICT Technician, someone who is passionate about continuously improving business processes and systems, as we seek to transform our approach to providing technology support to the business.

The ICT Technician role is particularly varied.  This role is a primary contact, supporting multiple systems ensuring processes and tasks are completed in line with business projects and strategic goals. The role will play an integral part in securing and developing our business systems and contributing to the continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure, whilst communicating with other teams to ensure operating stability and compliance. As ICT Technician, you will efficiently deal with incidents and assist on various projects (migration, upgrades, security, etc).

This post is primarily suited to those already experienced in a technical role and ideally those who have already spent time as an ICT Technician in a manufacturing, engineering or commercial environment.

We are looking for a talented and driven individual to join and make a real difference to the ICT team.

The salary is £25,000-£30,000 per annum dependent on relevant skills and experience.

About You

You will have successful track record of working in a dynamic and collaborative ICT team, supporting end users and delivering change to demanding timescales.  You will be a confident communicator, who can dynamically manage your own workload with strong analytical/problem solving skills and the ability to work at pace, making clear decisions with a structured and organised approach.

You should also possess skills or knowledge in the following areas:

  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • End user support either locally on premise or remotely.
  • MS Office 365/application support.
  • MS SQL server
  • IT Security/compliance and network monitoring
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software. Replacing damaged hardware where necessary.
  • Creation of technical documentation and audit processes
