Crowd Control
The Crowd Control System is a vehicle-mounted extendable barrier system. The barrier forms a protective shield for law enforcement operations and is also capable of light obstacle clearance.
Overview
Constructed from high-strength steel, the Crowd Control System panels feature LEXGUARD polycarbonate armour, which has a ballistic material rating of “A” (0.38 handgun) and a WMFL level 2 (60 minutes sustained physical attack).
When fully extended by the hydraulic system the two outer wing panels incorporate a safety ‘break back’ mechanism. This prevents excessive force being applied by the barrier when the vehicle advances and also relieves excessive crowd pressure when the vehicle is stationary.
The barrier has a limited obstacle clearance capability and can also be used as a bumper to move other vehicles.
